Help with 75 hp Mariner

I've got a 75 hp Mariner not sure of the year but the Serial number is = A145855. It is missing the top part of the motor that the stator screws to. Does anyone have information on this motor and a diagram of the top of the engine so I can see what I need to get to get this motor running. There is a flywheel, stator, another electrical part that goes to the CDI and a metal gasket that's all. Thanks in advance

It sounds like you're missing the upper end cap assembly.

Thanks Wrench 3. I just got a Venture Sport About that is a 1989 with original trailer. I'm working on it to restore and the Motor that came with it was missing some parts. Do you know the year based on the serial number (A145855) or any other information? I will be posting pics soon of the before. Thanks again.

I make the motor a 1985.
If you're looking in the Mercury online parts catalog, add a zero to the front of the serial number. (0A145855)
