Hello everyone, I've been tryin REALLY hard not to do this but I'm having trouble identifying this Sears motor I have. From my research it looks like an Eska or Ted Williams 5.5 with a Tecumseh on top but I can't nail down a year model or parts breakdown of it anywhere. I tried a link I found in another thread to look at manuals but couldn't get them to load any more than the first page. So what I have says Sears and Roebuck (of course) model number 217-59431 serial number 205199. I would LOVE to get this little motor running and on the back of my 10ft Jon boat but need help locating some diagrams and whatnot.

Also is this a 100% direct drive engine or is there a neutral gear for it? Ive tried the knob on the side of it and it did nothing but limit how far the throttle moved. Is it air cooled or does it have a water pump?

Sorry for all the questions at once but figured might as well get em all out there. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks!!

As far as your other questions,
This is a direct drive engine that starts in gear. If you want reverse, you rotate the motor around backward for reverse thrust. The engine its self is air cooled, but the exhaust is water cooled. Not sure it there is a pump, doesn't appear to be in the pictures. I'm sure one of the Eska/Sears Guru's will be along to tell you all about it.

Thanks!! I found the parts I'm missing on the Sears website and am ready to get em in and take out "Mini Jenny"
