I acquired a inflatable dinghy a few days ago for very cheap but isnt made anymore. The floor is made of 4 wood planks but it came without the pieces that interlock and make it rigid.

These are the pieces I am missing(friend has the same boat).

The black plastic pieces goes in between the planks and the wood pieces go on the sides. My question is how would I make the black plastic pieces for in between the planks since they are plastic? I think the wood ones wont be hard with a router. Thanks so much!

How about making an H channel with epoxy and fiberglass? Butt your floor together and tape the ends with shipping tape(so the epoxy and glass won't attach to the floor).....lay fiberglass over the joint and wet out with epoxy....repeat till your desired thickness. Do it wet on wet. Let that set and then flip it and do the next side. I have never tried it but it should work.

Re: Help with a inflatable wood floor?

try this, the hard part will to find the material, if all else fails try wood,
get some material 3 inches wide by lets say 1/4 inch by what ever length.get 4 pcs cut 2, 1 inch wide double them up in the middle between the other 2 pcs. use some adhesive, you could actually bolt them together by recessing the hardware.
it makes sense in my mind
