Was wondering your opinion on which one of these carbs to choose from Edelbrock 1409 or Holly 4150

Thanks

either will work great depends on which you like better. that is... depending on what you're going to put it on???

Ayuh,... Merc never used a Holley,... Bracketry will have to be built...
Merc does however use the Merc/ Weber/ Carter clone,..
Which is a carbon copy of the Edlebrock 1409...

The Mercruiser 888"s used a Holley two barrel.
Summit Racing carries the brackets for using a Holley four barrel on a Mercruiser engine.

Merc stopped using Holleys (a long time ago) for a reason... Who am I to question their wisdom? Go with the 1409....

GM produced a cheaper engine.

No, GM produced a better engine :D:D... Besides, GM/Ford didn't supply the carbs. I believe Mercury sourced them independently..

the 1409 is a good carb and a drop on. If you're a holley fan the holley will run just as well. for the larger 750 size, I would favor the holley...
