Hello, hopefully this is my final request for help.

1978 galaxie 22xl w merc 260 chevy 350

The backfiring was a stuck exhaust valve.

I had valve replaced, and have everything tightened down. I believe the cylinder on number one is at TDC.

I did not label the wires for the oil pressure sending unit that are very close to the two wires that go to the dizzy.

Also, how do I know which wire is positive and negative to go the dizzy?

Also, there is a blue wire that is attached to the dizzy, where does this go? Maybe to the neg on the coil?

Also, I had new guides put in the cylinder head. How do I adjust the rocker arms???

Also, the dizzy doesn't seem to want to seat all the way in. How do I fix that issue?

Lots of questions, but any help will be appreciated!!

If anyone can give me the answers, I am confident I can get this thing together.

Go up to the adults only sticky at the top of the forum. Download the manual for your engine. READ and Study it. It will answer your questions.
Case in point
Also, there is a blue wire that is attached to the dizzy, where does this go?
That blue wire goes to the oil pressure sending unit.
Look at the wiring diagrams too.
