2005 Rinker 312 Fiesta Vee with dual 5.0 MPI engines, Cool Fuel 2 (the older style with the water fuel cooler brass above the cylinder fuel pump located under the port exhaust manifold).

It's QUITE difficult to reach and needs replacement. Has anyone had any luck disassembly the ENTIRE assembly as a whole unit and pulling it out the front of the engine?

There's two nuts that appear to hold it to the front motor mount. It appears if I pull those two nuts that the housing will drop free.

At that point the two fuel hard lines go to the water separator on the starboard side under the engine, a water hose comes in from the outdrive power steering cooler at the rear port side, then a water hose out the front of the fuel cooler going right next to it to a distribution ball that's on a bracket that can be unbolted free, the vacuum line for the fuel pressure regulator, and the fuel line up to the injector rail.

If I disconnected all those would it just drop into the bilge letting me maneuver it closer to the front to start removing the fuel lines from the pump and cooler?

I don't see another way to get it out short of removing the engine as I can't access the back of the cooler/pump fitting and I can't find any videos of anyone else doing it, either.

The port engine has a good bit more room to maneuver. The starboard motor unfortunately only has a one inch gap (literally) between the block and the stringer. You can SEE the cool fuel unit, you just can't maneuver tools in there.

Thanks,
