Help with correct replacement stator

I am trying to find a replacements stator for a 1974 135 HP Evinrude outboard. Iboats says a CDI 173-1225 replaces both OMC 581046 and OMC 581225. See HERE

I don't want to drop 300 dollars on a new stator so I have been looking at parts on ebay under both OMC part numbers. Does anyone know if the 581046 and 581225 are interchangable? May stator looks like THIS ONE but I am wondering if I can use THIS ONE. Is there a difference?

It looks like the second link I posted says 1975-1977. Did the stator design change after 74'? Could the new version be used on a 74?
