Help with engine identification please.

Hello everyone I am trying To service my motor but having trouble finding the model and year. I believe according to the sticker it say it’s a 225, I know it’s not. The cover says 140 which is more more accurate. See pictures. Thanks in advance.

My wild guess is 1990 model.----Check this thing over very carefully !!-----Looks like it might have been in accident or hurricane damage.-----Remove high speed carburetor jet and post the number on it.

I'm thinking late 80's like this 1987. Sure has lots of corrosion.

Model number comes up as a 95 225 if that the original tilt bracket.

The 225 HP is a V-6-----This motor is a V-4.-----Many part interchange.

Its a 1987 powerhead on a new style 25" midsection. Wire to Faststart and temp on port head wires cut

If I was to order plugs and wires go off of a 87?
How about impeller?

Water pump kit is the same for all V-4 / V-6 / V-8 motors from about 1980 to now I think.
