help with livewell pump in Sylvan 1500expl

guys, my livewell pump stopped working on the sylvan 1500 explorer 96 model, the livewell is on the left side and the pump seems to be encased and covered by plywood, I can't get at the pump, is there any way of accessing it ??

Normally the pump is mounted with the intake through the center of the transom below the water line. Should be able to get at it in the bilge area. If it's covered by plywood, it would appear cutting a hole is necessary but I can't believe they put the pump in an inaccessable area.

thanks for the tip, last year , I replaced the bilge pump, it too was hard to get at.
I dont see any pumps near the bilge pump and the rest is covered with flooring plywood.

Check the back of the boat for the inlet. Livewell pumps cannot "lift" water which is why they need to be below the water line. Push a piece of weed whacker line into the opening until it stops. Unless there are some "T" fittings or sharp bends in the line, the point at which the line stops is where the pump is.

thanks, I just found it, at the back, was wondering, there is like a big outlet with a large plastic nut on the exterior of the transom, so I guess , I just loosen this plastic nut to remove it ??
