question i have inside on the top of the enginne litle sensor with to wire purple and purple w/strip yellow this is for what and were the wire supose to be ist not for the red light i see and i test this one but for the top of the engine i dont know?

ok so this is normal that the choke when the key is on is haft close???

and i supose the wire for the sensor are plug with the one for the choke>??

Floyd.... That sensor on top of the block was a goof on OMC's part. The purpose of it was to automatically actuate the choke when the engine was cold. The problem was that some engines ran cool and the choke would stay half closed.<br /><br />OMC came out with a bulletin some time later with the following instructions.<br /><br />Pertaining to the sensor on top of the block, remove those two wires from the terminal strip and tape them away somewhere or cut them off at the sensor as it is no longer used.<br /><br />The choke solenoid has two wires, a purple/white and a purple/yellow. Connect both of those wires to the purple/white wire at the terminal strip.<br /><br />Hopefully that answers the question. Good luck.
