Re: help with new ignition switch
I thought you said your new switch had THREE terminals. In your post you indicate it has FIVE or SIX. On that switch the letters are the same except for the "I" which is Ignition or Magneto (same thing). For the first switch you mention, a,m,s,c,b,m = Accessory, Magneto, Starter, Choke, Battery+, and Magneto. That switch is for a two stroke engine and yours is a four stroke. Ignition on a four stroke is disabled when the ignition contacts are OPEN. On a two stroke the ignition is grounded (the two M magneto terminals are conntected) to kill the engine. An I/O switch is normally OFF-RUN-START and may have a push to choke fand ACCESSORY feature. You have the wrong switch.
