Re: help with paint or wax

I run "Chucks Fiberglass" Boat Color Restore. There are two products I use and highly recommend. These are the only ones I use. If the boat is Heavily Oxidized I Recommend 3M Marine Color/Gloss Restorer Part # 09089. You MUST use a Commercial Buffer and follow the instructions exactly for both products. If the color is just dull but not oxidized 3M Marine Fiberglass Cleaner and Wax. Part # 09009. If you use Part # 09089 It contains no wax and before you put it in the water and after about three days letting Restorer Application set and harden. Then Wax with a good marine Wax. I use McGuira's Flagship Premium Marine Wax or NU Finish. The Orange Bottle you can buy in Automotive Dept. at Walmart's.

Whatever your choice of Wax Read the label and make sure it's made for Marine Fiberglass. Nu Finish is and provides a good hard finish. The Meguiars is easy on and easy off but it doesn't seem to last as long as the Nu Finish.

If the Hull is Dull you will need to use a Hull Cleaner before applying any 3M Products or wax.

Wax your Boat about three times a season, Spring, Summer and fall and it will shine for ever. My Boat is 21 years old and I still have people ask me occasionally if my boat is new or Fairly New.
