I am trying to determine the appropriate bow-mounted trolling motor to purchase for my older Lund boat. It is a 1994 ProAngler 1700 DLX. I determined the thrust needed is in the 50-55 lb range, but I am not sure how long the trolling motor shaft needs to be. Is there an easy way to determine this? Any help would be appreciated.

From Minn Kota website

Determining Shaft Length
To determine the recommended shaft length, measure down from the mounting surface of your boat to the the waterline. For rough water conditions, add 5? to the waterline measurement. Optimal operating mode is with the engine trimmed all the way down.
