Help with vessel view

I have a 2004 mercury 350 MAG MPI on my 05 Tahoe. I purchased the mobile vessel view and tried to install it but I am not getting a light on the wifi module turning on for the smartcraft indicating it is getting data from the ecu. The bluetooth is flashing and connects to phone but app telling me it cant finish connection to engine. I do not have the yellow or red terminator, but a purple weather cap. I took that off, pulled the end off to expose the pins of and connected it to the vessel view connector. The directions are somewhat vague to me as it says if I don't have a yellow or red terminator I needed to buy a terminator to make it work which I did. But I cant figure out how to hook it up. It is a female connection going into the vessel view connector which is also female. Enclosed pics of my engine connection, the terminator plug I bought and the vessel view harness with the end going to ecm having a female connector. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

I am no expert but I hooked mine, on a 2011 5.0 mpi (cat) engine, to the purple connector. I had to follow the harness back and disconnect it farther back. I then used the harness that came with the Vessel view.

I included pictures.

Thanks for the replies and pics/video. Ok, so I realized I had to plug the yellow terminator to the other plug on the vessel view to make it work and seems to connect now, getting the smart craft light on on the module, whereas I did not before. What I did notice is that once I key everything off and take the boat key out the bluetooth light still blinks looking to connect. Is this normal?

I'm guessing it takes a bit for the bluetooth to time out so it doesn't lose the connection and have to reconnect if you shut the motor off for a couple of minutes and then restart.
