Re: Help with winterizing
AQUADJ,
It's really easy, so here ya go. Just remove the silencer, you will expose the throttle bodies, these will look kinda like carb throats, with the butterfly valves....get the water connected(always on muffs to run, NOT the hose connector) and after it runs a couple of minutes, get it up to a fast idle (1400-1600) RPM. Helps to have somebody on the trottle. On the can(of Yamaha Fogging Fluid), it tells you the amount per liter of eng. displacement, then you divide that amount of spray time by six(cylinders) and spray each intake(should be 20 seconds or so, maybe 30). Rotate thru all the cylinders for say 5 seconds on each until all have the 20 to 30 seconds of time each(six times thru)x(5 secs.) and then just chop throttle to idle, spray quickly around thru cylinders till engine bogs and dies....thats fogged. You can then pull each sparkplug and just give a little shot into each, letting threads of plug hole catch a little. Don't forget to grease propshaft, steering, and t-9 the engine real good(wet 'er down, won't hurt only help) and treat the gas.
