help with year

I have a 65 hp mercury, 3 cyl. Can anyone please help me in finding out the year. The serial # is 5651307. Thanks

I cannot confirm this for a 65, but that number is circa 1981. You sure it's not a 70?

Here's what I have for US motors...

HP Cyl. Serial # Year
65 3 3293184 1972

65 3 4382057 1976

Serial number is for an 1980 or 1981 US motor.

Thanks for the replies, my research leads me to believe it is a 70hp motor
although the cowling is for a 65. I believe it is a 1979 motor
