Help. Yamaha 9.9 4-stroke

Ok. I just purchased a 1997 Yamaha 9.9 4-stroke engine and put on a boat I re-built. Everything seems idiot proof except 3 wires coming out of the control box. the wires are long enough to reach back to the motor but I think one of them is for the tac. all of them have a round connecter that you would put a screw through. they are green, yellow and black. Any ideas?

What kind of a control box? Side mount or top mount? Yamaha brand or other brand?

What is the complete model identity of the motor?

what I am calling the control box is where you control the throttle of the boat mounted to the right of the driver. it is all Yamaha brand. not sure what you are talking about when you ask the complete model identity. im new at the outboard motors.
