I just put the muffs on to fire up the engine after the winter, before storing it and after having it winterized everything was fine, now when I fired it up there was water pouring from the impeller cover and I noticed 2 of the 4 brass screws were sheared off.I suspect when they did the winterizing they did this and failed to mention it to me(good thing I was not on the water). Also there was white smoke which could be related. The motor is a Volvo Penta 4.3 and the impeller cover is at the front (facing the bow) and easy to get to.Is this (really) a serious problem and can the 2 holes be drilled out and rethreaded. Thanks, any advice?I will be talking to the marina that did the winterizing but they will most likely deny the damage since they failed to mention it to me in the fall.

Re: Help!!

Star the screws I can't comment on but the white smoke is fogging oil that sprayed into the motor during the winterizing process, its usually sprayed into the carb with motor running, until motor stall, then spark plugs are removed and more fogging oil sprayed into each cylinder, then spark plus are reinstalled. In the spring when motor is first fired it will burn off any of the fogging oil which will make clouds of white smoke if smoke continue for more than a few minutes then you have another problem.
