Re: HELP!

once again ....you guys are awesome(jasonj, tengals,AMD)!!Thanks a bunch. :)

it rained in my boat and the water stays in nice...the hole or weep has got to be mid hull area in the middle to back area.

I was out in the boat for about 6 hours (defnintly sunburnt) and at first water came in and filled up about half and inch in the back of the boat, not much at all. The circumfrence of the water in the bottom at the back was about 4-5 inches wide and half inch deep.

I found one tiny screw hole...threw some kitty hair on it and its seems solid and the first major leak stopped.the front of the boat is always dry...just the back bottom gets wet i am narrowing the it down each day and each time i go out.

I came back from montreal today to find my boat filled with water at the back. I pulled the plug and will shop vac the rest out tomorrow. I think I am gonna give everythign I can see a quick sand and throw a layer of kitty hair on everythign i see, that stuff seeme like rock for below water line stuff.

thanks again guys...will get pics this week for you AMD..promise. even my rotti loves the boat..thanks again, you are defnintly a straight forward and honest guy..your selfless help and generousity has actually gotten me extremely interested boating and how everything works...much appreciated.

Still havent figured out how to get my 69 evinrude 40hp big twin lark to go in reverse...really is gettin annoying...any suggestins would be greaat!

This boat took alot of work just to get floating safly but I think I will have alot more little things to take care of on the hull to make it completely airtight.

question...will kittyhair stand up to hittin a dock at floating speed(engine ofF)or hittin hard waves?

thanks
Keith

Re: HELP!

Tengals, the motor is awesome, I was considering doing the same thing, except painting mine white. I loved my old 1963 Merc 850, it was white and looked really cool. Heck, if you look at my rig, I painted my 57 Johnson 5.5 white, and it used to be maroon and white. Nope, as long as it looks good, it doesn't need to be original.

Re: HELP!

I think they developed sense by then, it was full shift, F/N/R.
