HELP1 Mounting Transducer to Powerdrive?

I've got a MK Powerdrive 55 and just got a new fishfinder for the bow of my 17' Fisher Deep V. I've already got the bracket that mounts the transducer to the motor and have been out fishing twice. Currently I have the cable running under the 1/2 of the *bracket mounted to the boat. (*My PD is on a quick release mount so I can store it indoors when not in use.)

I am very careful when I stow and deploy the PD - but a few times the cable has worked loose and gotten near the prop. Never gotten tangled, was able to hear the "ticking" of the blades on the cable before it was sucked in and turned the motor off.

I just can't seem to find a good way to mount the cable and transducer and keep it easy to stow and deploy without pinching/cutting the cable.

Lastly, I'd like to be able to keep the transducer mounted to the motor, as I am disconnecting the bracket it each time I take the PD indoors.

Would appreciate any and all info./suggestions on this.
Thanks!

Hang in there. I have the exact method for doing this (its on my boat). I'll take some pictures and post them ASAP. Mine is on a quick release plate as well and you only need to disconnect the transducer cable from the locator to remove the motor. Stay tuned.

Here are four pictures that explain how to do this: The key to keeping the cable out of the prop is to drill a small hole in the web at the top, leading end of the motor. Tie wrap the cable there. Then run it up through the grip glide handle and up the shaft. Tie wrap it again ABOVE the steering clamp. Use no tie-wraps below the steering clamp as the shaft needs to slide up and down. Route the transducer cable down and through the center of the coiled cord, exiting at the bottom. Your done.

I have mine setup the same way as Silvertip and I don't have any problems with it. Works great that way.

Thats good Silvertip. Do you mind if I pass the pics on to some friends on a fishing site?

Sweet setup - looks like the way to go.

*Just to be clear - you are unplugging the chord directly from the display unit when you take the motor off the boat?

Ah...Up through the coiled power cord...How could I have not seen that.

Well, I am in hotel watching my grandson, playing head games with this problem.
