Did anyone ever hear of an addative you add to the fuel to get the water from the motor on one that was submerged? I posted earlier about my friend who's was under water in a storm , got it running and now we think the power pack went. It cranks over just fine, but no spark. Well a mechanic in Canada told him there was an addative you mix with the fuel and it dries out or blows out the water. I never heard of it. Did any of you? And where can I get some? If he can find it, he's gonna put some through and run it.

Any type of fuel additive with alcohol would probably work, the alcohol will mix with the water so it can be burnt. Or load up the block with WD-40, the "WD" does stand for Water Displacing so it should work!

Best thing to do is get it running as soon as possible and run it for several hours at least. It needs to get toasty warm to bake any residual water out of it.

If it's going to be days before you can run it, get a load of oil into the cylinders or it's going to rust up on you. After the ign is fixed, blow all the oil out by turning the engine over with the spark plugs removed, inserted back in the boots, and grounded out. Then reinstall the plugs and get crackin'!

HTH and Good Luck.......ed

Nothing you add to the gas could ever fix the power pack. Alcohol ("Heet") when put in the gas tank will help you dry out your GAS, but if your gas has water in it you should just dump the tank. The only thing that will get water out of the motor is running it, and I would use at least 32:1 oil.
