Thanks guys I appreciate it. So I am actually trying to decide which part i want to hinge the top where the seats actually mount or the bottom to slide things in and out.

If you look at where the ply meets the splashwell you can see I kept the original starcraft sliding design I just shortened the doors so there is still access to the bilge that way and it is big enough to slide the battery in and out.

Bluefin I mentioned the idea to the admiral she grabbed the skillet(the heavy cast iron one too) so while she is really growing on me I can't keep her.

More updates today.

They part I ve been nervous as crap.about.


The goal here was to get as much weight as possible on the front deck. to see how much flex we got its apparent i need to beef it up a little on the very front.

A little more structure will make it feel just that much better... sometimes it's better to go with more than just enough. Nice work there so far sig.... glad you caught that before you went much further!

Yeah we did that before I put any doublers on it, or before I had the stringers fully installed too.

Even more exciting is that I have childcare Tues-Fri this week, so I am hoping the consoles will be painted the supports for the bench will be cut, everything will be sparred carpeted and installed, then touch up paint, motor steering and electrical. Get it listed to sell.

you really need to learn to hide that thing Sig (mine is on-top of the kitchen cabinets, out of immediate reach even for the 6' Admiral).

Ohh yeah I agree but while I do like this boat, I need the shop space back, and ultimately the admiral is right she does need to go on down the road. She sure will make someone a great fishing boat though and in my opinion is everybit as nice as the new trackers and such for a fraction of the price. Someone is going to get a great boat. Not at a bottom feeder price but with as nice as she is coming together I would be willing to pay more than bottom feeder for her too. I've put a lot of thought into keeping her as open and comfy as possible but also trying to get as much storage as possible as well as making sure she is versatile enough to fish and tube behind as well. Great for dad to fish good for mom and the kids to come play too.

Started cutting the glasser up today, it had a really nice 18 gallon aluminum tank in it, of course it was stored with about 6 gallons of gas in it.

Gas tank very usable gas not so much.

Cleaned up really nicely with all purpose cleaner and a garden hose.

SUWEETTT. Having child care during the day ROCKS. I started at 9:30 this morning finished all of the major carpentry by 330 built seat boxes, all the under deck framing for the forward deck all the support structure for the rear bench seat, I mismeasured and had to raise the rear bench seat by 3/4" the gas tanks dips down a little farther than I had anticipated.

Should I shell out another $300 for another donor boat with a 75hp Suzuki outboard that has power trim.

Oh yeah boat part piles are like snack trays.

You even think about opening up one of those things and the itch is on.

I remember the days of having young kids, it's nice when they leave home after around 2 decades.

Will the $300 Suzuki w/ T&T add any value to the current setup on this flip boat? If any value, any at all, yep, if you can grab it for $300 or less, I'd definitely consider it. To the point of risking angering the Admiral.

You'll get another trailer, sell or scrap = a few $
You'll have another OB, if it adds value to the 16ft'r, keep the OB you had planned to use on it for the next flip boat, and use the Suzuki on this rig = a little higher asking price
Ebay/sell the 1st donor boat's parts & pieces and any you get of this new donor rig = a few $

All that ^^^ has got to add up to at least $450, so there's even a little 'profit' to pay for your gas to grab the new donor & your time to deal with it. And you still have the OB you got w/ the 1st donor to go on the next flip boat.

I have NO knowledge about Suzuki OB's, anything about their track record or ease of service, so that'd be the only hang up I'd have about getting another donor boat.
