IDK GA

This guy has been trying to sell this LUND for 6 months and no takers. I don't know how my older Tinny compares to it.

1994 LUND 1650 TYEE DEEP V ALUMINUM WALLEYE FISHING BOAT 90 HP MOTOR

Its a 16' Lund Tyee with a 1999 Johnson 90hp for $4k

I have kept close tabs on the budget so when the boat is sold I will disclose the numbers.

There's NOTHING on that ^^^ rig that's even attractive to me as a buyer except the motor. Bland, plain vanilla & lack luster at best. Not nearly the sexy beast shaping up in your SC hanger:

The Lund looks like it's a KY conservation officer's boat. NOT a new to me fish & ski if I was a buyer looking at it. What the heck? Is this the bullhorn speaker still mounted on the Lund's bow deck:

The Lund 'could' be a nice rig, w/ some work. All original doesn't hold any extra value, just more stuff that'll need attention sooner then later.

Like I said @Dozer's build. The attention to detail & little extras SHOW. I don't know if you'll get more for yours then $4K, quickly, in your market, that I know nothing about. Even w/ that sweet 2000 90 Merc, I don't see the Lund going for nearly $4K. It looks like a used boat & looks tired.

Besides, winter is for buying project rigs, spring is for selling water ready GOOD LOOKING rigs. Right?

Thanks JB,

I wish I could get my hands on that Lund for about $800 I could turn that into a 6k boat in a heartbeat.

Yeah, and I just re-read the ad & the seller took a Merc OFF the Lund, and now it's got a 2000 90hp Johnson, that is available solo for $2500, boat of $2200, so I'm saving $700 buying the package  So, w/ a mystical 2000 Johnson that's not shown in any pix, there's actually even less attractive to me as a buyer.

The worst words you can put in an ad "This Lund is in very good shape for its age." That's saying it's old and it looks like it. This is a flipper the seller bought at a state surplus auction. The equivalent of an floating ex-cop car. And just like a cop car, the cop stuff was pulled off and nothing was patched. The light bar will come off by skiing or tubing with her, no need to remove 4 bolts. A light bar is not a ski tower. The trailer is perfect, too. Perfectly rusted.

I think you made a poor comparison, Sig. :D

I wasn't asking and won't ask what you have wrapped up in her. Sig. Well, maybe someday to see if I'm still a half-fast estimator. :)

I didn't figure you were asking GA, but I think everyone is going to be staggeringly surprised at how much money has gone into this boat.

This really is the closest comp I could come up with.

Its sad because I could really make that Lund a looker.

Either you're really a stellar bottom feeder or you figured out flipping doesn't pay. Naw, somewhere in the middle. :) There aren't enough SCs down here in the South. I don't know if it makes a difference or not, but Starcraft isn't a household name like Bayliner, Boston Whaler (ugh, glassers) or even Lunds and Trackers on the tin side.

I know you could put the "OMG, look at that one" job on her. :D

They really aren't and I am afraid its going to hurt the resale value of the boat. If I were to tow this boat to the northwest I would ask $6500 and probably get it.

Sig, I won't be surprised what you have into it.... as I suspect most who actually keep track of the $$. Many, just don't keep track of those things which is cool too. But I bet ya a piece of Canadian back bacon that it will be closer to the sale price than you'd like given the time invested. J.

You could do a Jason and trade up to a decent 26 footer project and start all over again. :D

I agree, that Lund is not a comparison to what you have going. In my opinion about speed over quality, I like having the satisfaction of performing the job properly and knowing what and how everything was assembled. Will I be rewarded with $$$$$$$? Never, I am too picky.

Sig it would almost be worth it for you to tow her up here, have a steak and wobbly pop and sell her for a quick $8500. Just saying:facepalm:

Hey Sig, I'm still not convinced that you're selling this little beauty :p

Fix that glass, spiff-up the OB and spit shine it. Spring is here, buyers are getting off of their $$$.

I wouldn't hold to much to my guess, but with your new like boat, I think $4k is the bottom. Jason would be a good one to weigh in on this tho...

Now is the perfect time to sell.

Today's Update is more about what you don't see than what you do.

I despise sagging electrical so we fixed that problem with this.

This one is a weird post but I want to give a special shout out to the orange pencil she's been with me since the begining of the 18' rebuild.

Sigs BFF! A frickin' pencil. We gotta talk!

I use those with screws. If I riveted them in, as soon as I was done, I would be drilling rivets to add more wires/harnesses.

agree with the others, that "comp" wholly lacks the infamous "pizazz" and your boat has it in spades. get some sunset pix of her on the water on a calm evening, with the reflections of the water and the awesome black paint relfecting off each other, then list it at 5.

Rivets are cheaper and I have a ton of them to use its all good though because as I learned today even if you think you have all the wires in you can still fish one through if needed.

Yes my life is about as exciting as Redneck Joes I seriously have no friends.

Anyways the list is the following

Paint motor. √
Finish electrical √
Mount Steering√
Mount new plexi in windshield frame√
mount windshield. √
Mount engine.√
Mount rub rail and insert √
Mount bow cap√
Transom Corner cap (awaiting parts) Uncle cnc maching new caps instead of cast.
Run trailer lights properly
Paint and mount fenders. √

Splash.

Thx B2 there just really isn't anything out there in the way of comps, and as we all know a boat is priced on location and condition.

The list is oh, so short, Sig. It's good you don't have a blower like Dozer, so the last 20% of electrical should be easy.
