hesitation and occasional stall upon accel.

Hey everybody. OMC Cobra 5.0 Ford V8.

When coming out of idle speed in gear--just before punching it to get on plane the boat will stall. Sometimes it will get "choked up" and then die. Like spuddering as if I had water in fuel. but she doesnt stall all the time. Sometimes I can throttle back tp prevent her from stalling then give it another shot and she pops right up. Not that big a deal, just thought I'd ask you guys.

But, did almost everything imaginable for symptoms and still stalls. Any ideas on what to look at next?

Ayuh,....

Have you changed the Fuel Filters lately,..??..??

If that doesn't Fix it,...... Rebuild the Carb......

Try a compression test. Could be a stuck valve, broken spring,rocker.. It's unlikely but it happened to me and I thought it was the carb too.

Just to get your symptom right, you put it into gear while at idle speed and that is ok...then you give it throttle and then it bogs?

If its the process of going onto gear, you might want to check your ESA. If its when you give it throttle, I would check your asccelerator pump operation.
