john19,<br /><br />i dont have room on the back of that wellcraft. i got a kicker bracket on already. how much hp is the max that i can put on it? will a 25 hp be good enough? do you know how fast it will me the boat go?<br /><br />another thing, my keel is little messed up...i was wondering what and where do i get the thingy to fix it? at the marine store? and i ripped the bimini top when i drove it home........DARN!!!!!!!!!!! do you know where i can get some cheap one? the local store here priced them out at freakin 400-600 bucks.... i said what?????<br /><br />can you help me out?

BBQ,<br /><br />Will taking the bracket off make room on the transom next to the big engine? If not, you're pretty much stuck with brackets. MOST brackets are not rated for anything over 10 hp. It may say somewhere on the bracket.<br /><br />It's my OPINION that you're not going to get anything over displacement speeds with anything 25 hp and under. Maybe 8-10 mph. A kicker on a bracket won't plane that boat.<br /><br />Keel-depends on how bad and where it's torn up. If they're minor and near the bow, you can repair the scratches with Marine-Tex and possibly put a Keel Gard over it. If they're deep you're looking at f-glass mat and resin.<br /><br />My places for looking for a bimini are:<br /><br />1. e-bay. www.ebay.com <br />2. Cabelas www.cabelas.com <br />3. West Marine www.westmarine.com <br /><br />In fact I'm headed to Cabelas website right now to burn up a Christmas gift certificate.

cool... thanks djohn19... i'm gonna check out the sites. <br /><br />i dont want to sound like adumb butt... i took the boat home and didnt take down the bimini top... so it ripped when i was on the highway..... man, i feel STUPID. the aluminum broke and the canvas ripped, i think i can take it to a local shop and get the canvas redone... i'm gonna reweld it ..so i think ican save alot of $$.<br /><br />well, i have no more room on the transom. -- i'm stuck with the bracket. did u say 10 hp is the max...well, thats better than nothing. i just want something to take me back to shore or back to the docks incase the main one dies. i ndont need to plane. just as long as i am moving.<br /><br />i hope i am not bothering you too much with all these issues. i dont know you or how old you are but i just want to let you know that i am a newly wed and i have a loving wife that loves......boating. and a kid. so being stranded is a prblem.but i think i can manage. but i dont want to put my wife and kids in the situation.if u know what i mean. <br /><br />did u know i owned a bayliner capri witha foce before, i was stranded and i didnt like the feeling.... so i dont want to repeat that feeling.<br /><br />thanks for the input... i am so knowledgeable now because of this webiste.<br /><br />thanks to all and especially to you john19.
