HEY J.B. can you help me please

I am having a bit of a problem with a 2005 evinrude 9.9 4 stroke model E10EVL4SIC. this motor runs for 20 min . and starts shutting down first to one cylinder then completely . you can set a watch on 20 min.it has good fuel , a great water stream, full of oil and l am baffeled . any ideas to help trouble shoot this motor . thanks !!!!!

Sounds like it is running out of gas to me. You didn't say, but is this running for 20 mins at idle speed? I bet it would idle for 20 mins on a bowl full of gas.

Try pumping the primer bulb at about the 19 min mark. Watch it go for another 20 mins.

If so, fuel pump time.

Make sure your gas tank is vented. I had this happen to me because I forgot to loosen the vent on top of the cap. Not sure it was 20 minutes, but it'll be something easy to check. Daselbee knows what he's doing so listen to him.

Good suggestions above. Another possibility is ignition components warming up and failing.

I am honored that you choose to direct your question at me, but there are several hundred guys here who can help, some of them know that engine a lot better than I do. Don't close them out.

thank you of your responce on this crazy motor . The tank vent is open ,oil level full ,water stream very good . l feel that it might be electrical and lean more toward the safety circuits . any help is so apriciated . THANKS
