Anybody cutting any yet? I've seen just a few in my area with their first cutting. No one seems to be cutting and I can't figure out why.

One of the local power companies (we have three here, and another on the way) cuts hay on their reclaimed land. I can "supposedly" get it for $35 a bale delivered and they unload in the field for you. You have to buy the entire load, about 35 bales, and I only use about 10-15 a winter. I think I'm gonna go ahead and get a load if I can. If nothing else I'll feed it next year or sell it if there is a market.

Re: Heycods; Hay?

I went and looked at mine today , half a stand, Ill probably graze out and let the dove hunters have the sunflowers, Ill make enough off the hunting to buy hay. It really sux no rain for a year and just enough when I planted to crust the ground and no stand of haygrazer, cant win for loosing. And I have $2500 in fertilizer fuel and seed. :( I would have been better off going to Vegas and blowing it. Oh well the Cows will enjoy it.
