[Hey all,

I'm new here, but often find myself reading various iboats threads after google searches bring me here! Such a wealth of information everywhere!

I have been the owner of a very nice, modified, little 14 ft Alumacraft that I recently put a 2009 Tohatsu 20hp on. She moves nicely.

Last year, however, I joined the Starcraft club and I have to admit I love it!
I paid $800 cash for this baby, and feel like I got an ok deal. She has a 1986 4cylinder Mercury 50hp and a 35lb thrust MinnKota on the bow.
The motor ran fine last year when I got it, but when i winterized it the gearcase oil was a little milky, so I am going to pressure test the seals with a buddy that works on OB motors. We are alos going to do a leak down test for compression (fingers crossed)

There is some original vinyl left, but the floor was just rebuild and carpeted and the original bench seat was reapololstered. 2 new swivel seats were added.

Came with a deep cycle and starting battery, and 2 old tin gas tanks. The deep cycle can't hold a charge anymore, so I need a new one.

The wood on the bow could use a restaining, and I am adding some rod holders, interior lights and a couple other things here and there.

I know it is a 16 ft, and it is a 1974, but I am not sure what model???
I have the hull ID # if that would be of help to anyone,
also here are some pics, if I can figure out to post them.

I had fun skimming this thread! Great looking boats...I was trying to get a Lund to be honest, but I am really falling in love with my Starcraft!

PS it has a cool bimini cover, and a custom snap-on cover for storage too! And the original horn works :)

___Now if I only new what model it was........ :)

With a little love she'll be a beauty in no time at all! She is already looking good in my opinion!

Does anyone have any suggestions of cool mods.

I am a 4 rod removable trolling system in the stern, and eventually will be getting a better trolling motor. I want to restain the wood on the bow, and i have a couple other ideas, but would love to hear what some of you have done with a similar boat. Would it be worth removing the bow cover and getting a seat up there?

Theres help on the list to remove the bow cover but not reccommended. Structure concers, but can be done. Is the windshield a open in the middle?? Boat look very nice and well taken care of . My 22 Holiday required no work on my part. Ony added electronics and kicker hardware. It is a 1975 and was in also great condition. I have used it going on 4 years. You will have a good time with your family. It may well be a holiday my boat has the ID also on the rear ,right side top corner. Oh I also have a 16 SS with a open bow .Total rebuilt. Where do you live Can't be the Pacific NW as the sun is shining and your wearing shorts. There predicting Rain and snow in the greater Seattle tomorrow, its the coldest April ever recorded. Just love this Global Warming LOL

I do not recall the bow ever being covered with wood, all I have seen are Aluminum. Is yours possibly a open bow that someone covered themself?? How about a shot of the front of the boat from the inside looking over the bow that will tell what it most likley is, also a photo of the dash area and windshield. Your prior photos turned out well. By wood I really think he means those teak (?) strips that run in the center

Well it's either a Jupiter or a Holiday. Not sure what the differences were between the two. You stole it for $800. I got $2100 for my Jupiter when I sold it. Nice Regal GS there in the 4th pic ;)

Welcome to the iboats Starmada!

Nice rig. You absolutely stole it for $800, esp. when you consider I paid $700 for my piece of junk. Nice deal!

Re: Hi everyone! Starcraft ID help please.

Thanks everyone for responding....

A holiday or jupiter, i'll try to do some more research on my end if no one can tell for sure. Thanks for narrowing it down!

The bow is original I believe and its aluminum. The wood I meant are the "teak" strips like mentioned above. they need to be replaced or at least restained.

The pictures are all from last summer. i live in Minnesota, and it has not been warm enough to wear shorts. the fishing has been good this spring though (but i've only gone out in my 14ft so far.)

I loved my Regal but it bit the dust this winter. I used it like a work truck and it did me right for 160,000. The transmission went out and it needed rear shocks and struts, and brakes. Alas, I sold her for parts. Great car though.

Welcome to the Starcraft fleet, nice rig there:)

I think the sides on the Holiday are a little higher than on the Jupiter.

Check out the brochures thread, there is a link in my signature.

Fari, Welcome and thanks for the pics. I think Puge will take care of you're dues, but in either case you have a nice boat. I am not sure about the red color though ;) you may want to re paint. You will find a brotherhood here, so be prepared to share your boat life with us.
