Hi All,
This is my first post here as I have been reading for a while. Great site. I have a 97 Four Winns 180 Horizon RX with the Volvo 4.3 GL. The boat came with 2 props when I bought it. One was a 14.6x 17 3 blade alum. and the other a 15x19 3 blade alum. The WOT is about 4600rpm at about 33-40 mph depending. We mostly use the boat as a play boat pulling skiers, tubes and wakeboarding. We live at 7000ft as were we do most of are time. I run the 17 here if we are going to be playing and 19 if just crusing. But we make a lot of trips to Powell through out the summer where I run the 19. I am looking at the High 5 right now and half found some for half price. They are a 19 and 21 pitch. The High 5's are 13.25" will this affect anything or should I stick with a 14.6"? So I guess I am asking if you guys might be able to rec. a prop that would be best for wakeboarding and crusing?
Thanks for all and any help.

Re: High 5 on a 97 Fourwinns

Hello Kevin and welcome aboard.

Seems the 19 or 21 pitch in the high5 may be too much pitch. At 4600, don't know if this is with the 19 or 17 pitch AL. Assuming it is the 19P taking you to 4600. The 17P would take you to 5000. It is said to drop an inch in pitch when going to a 4-blade, but I don't know if you drop another inch going to a 5 blade.

Again, I think you need less pitch that the 19P you've found on sale.

Good luck!

If you're running stock merc props right now, go to mercs prop selector web site and input your information to see what you need. Seems to work good.
