I have a newly aquired 16ft Tri-Hull boat with a 115hp Johnson on it. Engine is a 1980 model # J115TLCSA. The tach doesn't work and I'm going to replace it, but I was curious what pitch and diameter I would need to pull a tube and maybe some skiers behind it. I'll be boating at Utah Lake, Elevation is 4,500 ft. Current prop on it is a OEM Johnson prop, 13.75 x 17p. I hope that's enough info.

Thanks guys.

Re: High Elevation

The power will be down about 12% and as I understand it thats if you rejet the carbs.
I think you should do a test run with the present prop.
I do think that a 15" pitch probably will work, but that would depend on how it does with the 17.
