My Evinrude 1992 150 motor has suddenly developed a problem with the idle. It now has a "no load" idle around 1200-1300 rpm, forward gear idle speed of 900 rpm. The "Quickstart" system is still working properly, and I have checked the temp switches which are OK and also synch the carb linkages. I can not find any evidence of a vacuum leak, and the cable is not the problem. I can get the idle down by retarding the timing quite a bit, but I do not think that the timing was the original cause. Should I replace the powerpack or is there any other area I can look into. Thanks
