Just bought a 1996 135 horse mercury mariner . runs but starts rough and once started the thing goes full blast to the point of spinning bearings or blowing up all together. Is this a throttle adjustment or something else and if it is throttle adjustment can somebody PLEASE! Help me find where it is and how to do it. I dont want to blow this thing up[. Thank You

Sounds like your throttle linkage is way out of wack, it needs adjustment. Put the throttle in neutral (idle). Then look under the cowl to verify the idle stop screw is sitting against the block.

This is a post to show the importance of pre-buy inspection.
