Have a 3hp Lightwin that I doing a carb rebuild on. The High/Low speed valve packings are giving me fits to get out. Don't want to mar the threads. Any tips or advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Try using a tooth pic or sharpen a piece of copper wire... If they are not stout enough you'll need to carefully use an ice pick (awl) and pry them away from the sides (they'll come out in pieces.)

A dental pick would be ideal. But you can manage with a pick or a very small flat blade.

Thanks,

I got them, needed to soak a little longer. Sometimes patience goes a long way....
