1985 Mercruiser V6 Alpha 1,
Adjusted the lower shift cable and kind of adjusted the shift interrupt switch by bending the tab back just a little. Now when I took the boat out this past weekend, It shifts into gear at close to 2200 rpms with a big clunk! It did however sometimes shift into forward gear at about 1100-1200 rpm's without the big clunk (much nicer). I don't think the shift interrupt switch was working, (probably bent it too much) is that why the high rpm's and big clunk?
