high speed slip

'84 Johnson 4hp- great little motor- but noticed this season at high rpm it seems to slip (like it is taken out of gear)- only for a 1 sec or so- low speed all is fine. Shifts fine- this motor only has fwd/neutral. Could it be a clutch issue or ?

Dave....check the prop hub first. There is a rubber clutch hub in there that may need replaced. <br /><br />Let us know what ya' find...thanks.
