higher octane gas for my 9.8 tohatsu comments welcomed

can some one tell if going from 87 Octane to 93 will get better profromance. I just tryed that and my 9.8 2013 Tohatsu run really smooth and nice. Any comment welcome

Although the rule of thumb is to use standard octane fuel as the engine won't benefit running higher octane fuels, personally find that running high octane fuels is much better, can feel it at the throttle, smoother faster engine response throughout the whole throtttle range and less fuel consumption by throtttling less.

Besides having better aditives and detergents will maintain combustion chambers in much better clean state than runing standard fuels. Tohatsu encourages running high octane fuels, if money is not an issue, run high octane fuels...

Agreed. The MFS9.8A3 will run fine on 87 or 89 (R+M/2 method), but the higher octane fuels often have better detergents and are usually more stable. If you search, you may even find 91 or 93 non-ethanol fuel, which will also get you away from the evils of alcohol.

I'll continue to use only the high octane..It just seem like it runs alot smoother
