Just to let you know this is not Peterfishbuster, but his wife, his devoted Boat Bunny, mechanic, small person needed for most jobs involving his boats. Little praise for me :D

Have you ever wondered while you were driving why you see a shoe/shoes on the highway? Well you guys could have left the spare pair on the bumper in tending to load them up before heading out but I found out today how they really got there. A) You put shoes in the back of truck, B) you load up your favorite furry pal Bowser to take for a ride, C) Bowser gets bored and finds shoe to play with and woops it goes over the side of the truck. Or you can choke it up to Bowser saying "Jees these shoes stink like &%*&$%! I have to get rid of them.
Fun for thought courtest of one wife

Welcome Peter's better half. I don't have a dog. No wonder I have so many pairs of old shoes hanging around.

Re: Highway Shoes

I allways wear deck shoes (sneakers, mostly) when I am loading or unloading the boat. But I don't wear shoes aboard my boat, I just take then in case I need to push-off of an oyster bar (my vessel seams to gravitate towards these shallow hull-wrecking, fish-holding, tranducer breaking shoals).
But when it comes time to load the boat on the trailer, I sometimes wear them. The ramps I use are kinda slippery, and tend to be used by some non-boating beer-drinking from clear glass bottle-types...They don't know what the can is for chained to the side-dock,so they throw them into the ways, shattering tham. But this causes said shoes to get wet. I simply cannot wear shoes that are wet. There's just something about wet and shoes------ Well anyhoo, I take these wet pups off ASAP, and set them on the bumper, back to being barefooted.
I then forgedaboudit! Same syndrome some of us guy seem to suffer from, regarding drain plugs.
Nice to have you "check in".

Now you guys see the stuff I have to deal with on a daily basis. It is a wonder that I am sane.

Okay neither of us passed I guess that means our kids are in big trouble LOL. She said thanks for the welcome. She reads over my shoulder a lot but usually wants me to post things for here wherever I go. I put my foot down with this one and who knows she may end up getting her own ID for many places if I can keep it up.
