Re: Hin

Hi SgtMaj
Older boats like my '61 sometimes weren't manufactured with one. Industry/Coastgaurd rules were formalized 'round '74 . I was issued a 13 charachter hin from the state , stamped it into an aluminum tag and epoxied + popriveted it to the transom .

Re: Hin

i had one of the decal shops on ebay make a decal and just stuck it in place. worked very well, just a strip of numbers, on the upper starboard of the transom. looked like it had been there for ever. just 1/2 tall numbers.

Re: Hin

Hi Td+SgtMjr
I like your idea Tashadaddy. I'm pretty sure MA required a stamped plate or to have numbres permanently engraved into the hull . They also required a rubbing of the numbers /plate for registration . SgtMjr I'll try to get to my boat + take a photo - predicting snow tonight here so I want to check my cover ( anybody got a crying smiley?)

Re: Hin

The plate is fine. Rivet it on. It must look "permanent".
