On my 1972 M/C120 when I was taking the Bell housing off I found there was a lot of slop in the hole in the housing where the hinge pin goes on the starboard side. Once I had it all apart I found one of the synthane washers was missing allowing the housing to move side to side, probably attributing to the wear in the BH.
I looked and could not find a used BH, so bit the bullet and took it to the machine shop yesterday. Great guy, he line bored the two holes and press fit a couple of bushings in, then lapped them to fit the pins, drilled the grease holes and it is good as new, (maybe better) now I can replace the bushings if ever needed. All for $88.00 I'm happy.
