2007 bayliner 185 w/ 4.3mpi and alpha outdrive.

Not sure how the boat measures speed - I don't see a fin or anything by the engine. Any ideas how I might find the problem and fix?

Turned it on and then off - still stuck. All the other guages are working fine.

Not even a scratch or ding in my prop, so not sure where I hit anything.

Thanks!

the speedo works by water psi look at the lower unit oposite prop side and you will see a notch that water enters .make sure it is clean and not stopped up you can clean it out with a tooth pick.

Look at the leading edge of your outdrive just above the bullet, you will find a small hole, the is where the speedo reading comes from, get a small drill bit and by hand drill out the wood that is packed in the hole, speedo works on air pressure, there is air in the hose to the speedo, moving through the water causes the pressure to increase or decrease depending on speed and the speedo needle moves accordingly. Turn the drill bit by hand, you do not want to damage anything.
