ok so this has been up for a few days, where's ezbtr and what is the final decision. LOL

decisions, decisions guys!! Will still be 1-3 week before refund is here, LOL :) Keep the hints coming!!! BUT..... as I do have a Beretta 22 semiauto for plinking, I'm leaning toward another .45, OR the diversity of a 357, shoot 38, 38+P, 38 Special and 357, love the accuracy of that round!

Buying a gun vs. buying a carry gun are a little different. I'd be in a compact auto somewhere between a .32 and a .45. Ruger's LCP (And i think S&W has something similar) would be my first thing to look at. I currently carry a Taurus PT 24/7 9mm. It's not bad and it wasn't expensive.

My favorite pistol that I have is my Ruger Mark III .22 semi-auto. It is a wonderful gun and if the barrel wasn't 7" long I'd probably carry that gun.

If money wasn't an issue for me, right now I'd be looking over the Wilson Combat or Kimber 1911s.

My wife carries a Taurus TCP .380. It is a great gun. My friend is a dealer/manufacturer and sold it to me for $180 brand new. They are not that much more retail.

Mine wont be a carry gun (I'm in CA), so larger ok, I will get a holster for it probably, just home defense and the range, my old Taurus 357 was very accurate, either 4 or 6" bbl (was 20 ish yrs ago) would shoot at 100 yds just fine, satin nickel and matched my Colt 45 :) so I'm not too worried bout their craftsmanship, will go to good, nearby shop and view some others though, have shot the Glock 45, loved it, their 9 as well, expense IS a concern as middle girl grad college in May, son 15 still at home, but I gotta give ME a present, hey still stuck at home for more months on crutches, but hey I'll be driving soon and can sit and shoot at the range :)

Yep you need the RIGHT gun to carry, once its an inconvienence you wont have it when you need it.You can not beat a glock, put that sucker in your truck box and when you take it out it goes bang.500 bucks out the door all day long. G22 is a sweet 40,but if you like 9 the g19 is a nice gun,I just don't see the point in a full frame 9mm. Put the SIG in your hand when you are at the shop and if you can gut a 950 dollar bill im sure you will leave with it. Another plus to the glock is double stacks.

Understood. IF you can find either.

I smell a rat.

It's to be had.Just how much you are willing to pay for it. I just got 400rds for $100.00. (Range stuff)

Speer Lawman .45 ACP 230 Grain TMJ Ammo - 50 Rounds per Box $0.45/rd [$22.47] SelfDefense [Ammunition Depot
Remington UMC .45 ACP 230 FMJ 100/box 23797 $0.45/rd [$44.99] FMJ [Natchez
Alamo Ammo 45 Auto Blazer 230 gr FMJ 50 Rnds M-ID: 3570 UPC: 076683035707 $18.95 50

Now trying to find 5.7 (28mm) ammo at a decent price is another thing

I reload all my own ammo except 12ga. It is much cheaper and a good way to relax the mind when needed. I am setup for .380, 9mm and .223 on a progressive and 30-30 and .270 on single stage. Too bad we can't reload .22lr.

Ruger makes some fantastic revolvers if you like that action.

Buy the gun, steal the car and try to run but you won't get very far.

Now try to get that song out of you head for the rest of the day. :)

I am a G22 fan, I own a generation 2,3 and 4(its one of our few issue guns) but if I had the money, which I hope to this summer, I am getting a Sig railed 1911 in Stainless, I have so many black autos I think it is time for a bling gun, and yes it will be a carry gun.

I think to many people use the excuse that big guns are not good carry guns, I carry one of my G22's daily, never had an issue, not once in over ten years carrying. Most people are just oblivious to their surroundings, I no longer see printing as a viable disqualifier for carrying large guns.

At almost a dollar a round that would be pricy to shoot.

:D:D

500 Rounds FN 5.7 5.7x28 SS197SR ---$300.00 (gun broker)
250 Rounds FN 5.7 5.7x28 SS197SR ---$150.00 " "

Now this is pricey

FNH ss198 LEO AMMO FN 5.7 x 28 Five-seveN 100 Rnds ---$190.00

FNH ss192 RARE Ammo FN 5.7 x 28 Five-seveN 100 RND --$195.00

My carry weapon on and off the water is my SA 1911 Champion. And no, I don't need more capacity. I hit what I aim at. LOL
