Is a omc lower from a 165hp straight 6 compatible with a v6 3.8l? I'm thinking the 165 lower might be to old to fit a 3.8L.

165 used an electric shift sterndrive, 3.8 was coupled to an 800 series drive mechanical or hydromech. Wouldn't even bolt up physically as the exhaust housing is a different shape.

I was trying to see if it would fit a family members boat but then I realized his was a cobra. Guess I'll part it out.

3.8 was never coupled to a Cobra, but nonetheless, no match either way
