I have a 2000 model Mercury 225hp EFI outboard.

If I wanted to reposition the outboard on the transom using an engine hoist, what is the best way to attach said engine hoist to said outboard?

Just what I need.. Thanks.

Is that price reasonable? Seems a tad expensive a for a relatively simple screw in eye bolt.

Make one. Steel plate with three holes spaced the same as the puller bolt holes. Weld a ring to the plate, bolt the plate to the flywheel.

Or a plate with the holes and a "U" bolt attached to lift it...

Just another idea...

A machine shop can make you the same lifting eye that was listed above on ebay, for cheaper. Just make sure it is grade 8 steel or you risk the threads stripping.
