I picked up a fiber glass boat (cheap) that has a hole in the bow (got a 70 horse outboard and a trailer with it). The hole has been patched with a fibreglass matting, but it looks like hell. What I would like to know is how to fix it to look like the orginal without resorting to a very expensive patch job. I am pretty new at this, even though I have restored a few boats in my time, but working with fibreglass is new to me. Any hope would be appreciated. Thanks alot and have a good day fishing.<br /> As for the hole, it is below the water line. It looks as if the previous owner used it to see if rocks will punch a hole in the bottom. It is located along the spine where the boat is trailered on the trailer. I hope this helps.

Check out the "project boats" forum page. There's lots of repair tips there.
