A spin off from a different thread, where these two carbs were discussed briefly.

I've done what research that I can on these two carbs and one of them is going on my boat....just not sure which one.

So my question is, which one is the most recommended or the most common user friendly carb. I've read the differences, but I'm not a mechanic, so what are the advantages of each? I'm putting it on a new crate GM 4.3 for a 21 ft Sport Craft.

Thanks guys!

I would recommend the 4160 model #0-80492. It has a single fuel line connection and vacuum secondaries. It also comes calibrated out of the box for the GM 4.3. Here's info on it:

The 4150 is more of a high performance carb. It has dual float bowls which require 2 fuel line connections and mechanical secondaries. The calibration may require tweeking for your engine.
Here's probably the cheapest place you will find a 0-80492:

Is this a marine crate engine your getting?

Yes, a marine crate 4.3 made in Michigan (thank god) from Michigan Motorz. They recommend the 4160 as well. Thanks for the useful advice!
