Hi all,
I have a neighbor (who is an electrical engineer) hooking up my 6 woman, 1 man jacuzzi. I need to find a 2 pole 60 amp gfci breaker for my main panel that will fit a Cutler Hammer box - BR type. There are so many options out there, i dont want to buy the wrong breaker. The 60 amp will run out to a sub panel with a 30, 20, and 10 amp. Can someone with a little more knowledge than me help me find the right breaker? The big box stores dont go up that high, so ill probably have to order online. Thanks in advance for helping me live my hugh hefner dreams!

Ran into same problem some years back when installing pool heater. Looking for 60A BR style. Almost gave up when I spotted the spa installation kits they carry. Comes with outside box and GFCI breaker. Solves lock out/tag out problem too.

Re: Home electrical help needed- question about gfci breaker

You may need to go to an electrical wholesaler. They should have what you need. You say that you are having a sub-panel. Do you need to protect the whole panel? Is it located where it can get wet? Would it make more sense to get a weather-proof panel with gfci breakers to protect the circuit directly related to the jacuzzi?

You won't find a 10 amp breaker. The smallest I have seen is 15 amp. Without seeing your set up it is difficult to know what to do. Btw I have 20+ yrs as an electrician. PM me if you need any help doing it right.

Re: Home electrical help needed- question about gfci breaker

My electric-fu is very weak, thats why im relying on my neighbor and friend. I decided to omit the 10 amp in the sub panel and use a 50a gfci, it was to be used as an lighting accesory. 6/3 wire running out from main panel gfci breaker to the outdoor weather tite sub panel with 30, and 20 amp standard breakers. I was told that since the gfci breaker is "upstream" that it would protect the entire circuit. the subpanel is about 18' away from jacuzzi in a permanently dry location
