so does this mean you should pay about 4 times for gas than we do....guess where the majority of the refineries are....y'all don't want them in NY, but guess what, you're prices aren't that much more than ours...are we subsidizing your gas prices......why should I pay the same for gas when we have multiple refineries less than 10 miles from my house....

same issue IMO.

KK: commodities are very different then financial matters as insurance n' taxes n' BIG GOVERNMENT pickin' winners n' loosers based on potential gains in power to dirty pols downstream. Don't try to cornfuse us more as Bro Haut is doin' his best right now!! :D:D JR

We're all VICTIMS Bro!!! BIG ______________ (fill in the blank). I prefer to be victimized by a private entity, or a bunch of good lookin' switch hittin' lesbos, (not the ones who hang out at Freemont: Bro) as I can generally take me business elsewhere, n' the BIG _____________ can't throw me in a Gulag!

Can't say that about BIG NANNY GOVERNMENT, can ya? Me n' the Foundin' Fathers were or are corncerned about BIG GUBMINT. But you know better then any here that I only have one functional brain cell, n' you play yer slow Bro like a fiddle from time to time. Shame on you takin' advantage Bro!! :D:D JR

All this hard blowing about Insurance Companies. I have an Idea why dont you Self Insure. Take the risk of haveing a $100,000 house have a fire and not have any Insurance. Its all about the choices that we make by ourselves. Banks require you to have insurance on your home if you have a home loan to protect their investment. If you dont want them to control you and make you have insurance PAY OFF YOUR MORTGAGE. That will get the bank off your back. Cant pay off your Mortgage? Time to down grade to a smaller house and pay it off.

I for one think that paying $700 per year to Protect my $100,000 investment is money well spent.

I agree, but what if the insurers in your area decided that they didn't want to offer that type of insurance because it wasn't 'cost effective?....
All the while making a killing on mandated auto insurance.....

Four choices: Bro.

#1 Flush the terlet of all Socialists n' allow the market to set premuims. Not easy to do.

#2 Don't own a house

#3 Move to a different (less Socialist state), where the insurance competition is healthy.

#4 Self Insure.

Real simple. It's a 'free' Country, till ya let 'er slip into the corntrol of Libs n' Socialists. Then yer not FREE!! BTW; jus' like there is no free lunch, FREEDOM IS NOT FREE EITHER!! JR

That is not what it's about....
It's about insurance companys not wanting to offer certain types of insurance because of the possibility that they might have to actually pay out one day.......
Either ya sell insurance or ya don't......;)

Bro, You n' Tail Gunner, n' ZmOz n' others are real good, (you especially: Bro). I don't like Big Insurance or Big Oil or Big Tabbacky, (don't smoke), or Big Pharma either, although some must think I do. That said: jus' like the dim wit Dems in power in the party, (actually the fellows n' gals in power who work with the MSM n' sceme behind the scenes to gain power are not dim wits at all: the cornsumers of their Kool aid mixture without thinkin' any are the dim wits).

I don't like BIG Gubmint! Big __________ fill in the blanks, will either prosper if there is sufficient demand fer their services or not, (unless Big Gubmint interferres n' picks 'em ta win the Nanny Gubmint lotto). Ya win that by purchasin' a Pol or two or three or the whole bunch if yer George Soros. That's the BIG ol' Murky does not like.

N' I know you know that I just hope the rest readin' me posts do.

Ya got me Bro. I give up: FORCE BIG INSURANCE TO GIVE THIER SERVICES AWAY AT A LOSS ALL YA WANT N' SEE WHERE IT GETS YA. No insurance companies offerin' insurance in yer state. Real Simple. Business does not do things fer sport. But carry on, I give up. JR

Re: Home Insurance Companies are a scam

First off, I didnt have a BIG NAME insurance company, it was a very small one.

Second, the problem with all companies dropping these specific damages, is that it forces me to go into a state pool.

I wonder who pays for that state pool?

I am trying to find out, but I wont be suprised if the taxpayers are involved.

Doing some math, my total insurance charges wont change that much, so I am not really getting ripped off.

I just cant believe that an insurance company is allowed to pick and choose what damages it will pay for. And that goes for flood insurance too. State laws should be changed that require all damages covered by one company.
