Hi, Having just retimed my engine using the "superstar" JOE REEVES method which utilises a spark tester set to 7/16ths , I thought i would post this method which i used to make up a "spark tester" rather than buying one,, simply screw two long screws into any non conductive piece of material,, (i used a wine bottle cork),,
and set the gap between the heads to 7/16 (need not be exact) ,,screw a spark plug connector cap taken from an old plug on to one screw and attach a wire with a crocodile clip or similar to the other,, Obviously spark plug lead to cap and crocodile clip to ground,, worked perfectly for me,, happy boating
