Jason, I have only seen surfing at behind a V-Drive/DD boat...the video looks like you're going a little too fast? Might just be because there's no one on the wave? Typically, don't you surf at like 5-?mph?

You surf between somewhere from 10 to 11 ish. Depending on the configuration. The video looks very fast but were were right about 10.5. The new pics with the gate we did slow down a little to 10 even or so. Even that half a mile per hour makes a huge difference.

It really depends on the rider and the wave you want. If you want a bigger wave you may want to go a little slower, but if you have a bigger person you want to go a little faster.

So is your home made surfgate mounted on the surfer side of the boat, or the opposite side of the surfer?
