Honda 40 reliability (2003) or other outboard

Are Honda 40 outboards a reliable motor? Are others more reliable and a better outboard?
I have no experience with 4 stroke motors just 2 stroke.

I was looking at a used boat that has a Honda 40 on it.

they are great motors, service centers are few and far between. if you have a service center, near you fine.

As TD stated, make sure you have a Honda service center for the motor near you. They are great motors but everything needs service sooner or later and you don't want to drive 200 miles to get it done.
